TRUST AFTER TRAUMA
A 5-Day Couples Backpacking Retreat in Colorado
July 19-23, 2026
A 5 day backpacking & rock climbing retreat to help you and your partner rebuild trust and restore your connection.
Trust After Trauma is a backpacking adventure designed for couples who are longing to rebuild a foundation of trust, emotional safety, and intimacy within their relationship after trauma has created a divide. This retreat is an opportunity to break away from the chaos and demands of life and focus on repairing and restoring your relationship.
This program is all about exploring the ways trauma has created challenges within your relationship, and finding your path toward emotional safety, trust, and connection despite all you’ve been through. Through the natural joys and challenges that come with being in wild spaces, you will learn to be present with each other in ways it has been difficult to access in your daily life.
You will be led by two guides who are versed in the tandem flow of inner and outer journeys and who will support your relationship’s unique path with skills for holding each other’s vulnerabilities well, growing in responsiveness to each other, and being deeply present to yourself and your relationship.
Through outdoor adventure, mindfulness, and couples workshops, you’ll have space to reflect as a couple and within community, and feel fully present with each other and the raw beauty of the landscape around you.
This trip is for you if you long to rebuild trust and set a foundation of emotional safety for your relationship to flourish from in the years to follow.

Meet Your Leaders:
Camille Leininger
CSW, WFR, SPI
Camille has been climbing since she was a teenager and working as an outdoor educator and mountain guide since 2018. Her interests are at the intersection of adventure and healing. As a mountain guide and clinical social worker specializing in rock climbing therapy, Camille believes that time in the mountains can be both grounding and life-changing.
She has guided clients on Mount Rainier, throughout the North Cascades, and various locations within Colorado supporting people as they challenge themselves, grow their confidence, and deepen their relationship with the outdoors. Camille is passionate about helping others discover their strength in and connection to wild places.
Outside of work, Camille loves meandering on glaciers and making jewlery.
Christie Morgan
LPC, WFR
Christie is a relational trauma adventure therapist who is passionate about creating a space where her clients can return home to the parts of themselves that have been buried beneath their trauma. Christie’s passion first developed when her own childhood trauma led her to walk through her own healing both through the support of therapy and her experiences on long distance trails.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Christie was as an Outdoor Instructor in California, where she created healing spaces for parents and teens to heal their relationships with each other through backpacking and rock climbing.
When Christie is not supporting others on their journeys home to themselves, she enjoys adventuring with her husband & kiddos, running trail ultras, climbing, backpacking, and painting!
